JOB SUMMARY:
To assist the Cultural Service Director in the Traditional Practices to Wellness Office with the implementation of intergenerational family wellness focused group work, completing the community needs assessment, and community readiness assessment. To assist the Cultural Service Director in increasing the capacity of ongoing workshops and participation within the health system. To strengthen the healing village and assist in furthering integrated internal approaches within the health system that increase cultural humility and address structural inequities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists program with delivering tailored workshops and culture guide presentations to ensure WRFCHCS employees and providers are equipped to perform effective culturally and linguistically appropriate care.
Prepares, proofreads, and edits routine correspondence, reports, tables, and records.
Processes and reviews routine paperwork and/or enters data into a program log or database.
Assists with program data systems, including filing, scanning, retrieving, and archiving documents, researching files, etc.
Maintains a calendar for program activities, makes calls and arrangements as requested by the Cultural Services Director and assists with Workflow entries.
Processes and distributes appropriate materials, maintains reference manuals/materials.
Reviews and verifies programmatic data and all data collection and storing of data.
Assists in the review, research, and development of material and documents when directed by the Cultural Service Director.
Coordinates and/or leads culture guide presentations at monthly orientation and cultural specialist training.
Assists in developing, implementing, and conducting relevant Traditional Practices to Wellness Office and Native Connections training as requested by clinical operations officers or administration. Assist in identifying areas in which training is necessary.
Other duties as assigned to maintain/enhance the operation of the Traditional Practices to Wellness Office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate degree or higher in Human Services or Social Work with minimum of 2 years’ experience in curriculum development, adult education, personnel development, or workforce development. Experience in working with diverse cultures and American Indian populations.
Experience with modern office practices, procedures, and equipment including word processing, spreadsheets, and email programs.
Experience in assembling, sorting, and distributing documents.
Experience in reviewing and editing documents for accuracy and completeness.
Familiar with methods used to tactfully deal with community and programs.
Experience with using telephone etiquette and coordinating telephone conferencing.
Familiar with the preparation of records, reports, and correspondence.
Knowledge of agency and grants management department policies and procedures
Knowledge of agency goals and vision
Knowledge of the cultures and traditions of the People of the Wind River Indian Reservation
Must be able to pass a criminal background check under the Indian Child Protection Act and Family Act (P.L.101-630).
